Update: The lack of games for Windows Live keys is the main debtor.
Updating: Rockstar has given an explanation against Gamespot, pointing out that the support of Games for Windows Live is the main problem. Grand Theft Auto 4 was originally created for the Games for Windows Live platform. Since Microsoft Games for Windows no longer supports live, it is no longer possible to generate the additional keys required for the further sale of the current version of the game.
We check other distribution options GTA 4 for the PC and will continue to pass more information as soon as possible.
Original story:
At the weekend, Rockstar Games passed some strange grand theft car 4 on Steam. The Open World title can no longer be bought even though the entry is still available. Those who own the game can still download it and play normally, but it is no longer possible that new players pick it up.
There are several ways to remove the game, most likely this is grand theft car 4 is exclusive to the Rockstar Games Launcher. Of course, it is also possible that support is patched for the launcher for new customers. This reflects the situation with RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 on Steam as it needs the launcher when the game is started for the first time.
None of this is confirmed, mind you, so we have to wait for an official announcement of Rockstar Games. Further information can be obtained in the meantime / you can also inform yourself at the supervisor grand theft Auto 5 which is still available for PC via Steam.
