GTA in VR: The dream of the immersive gangster

Recently, Rockstar Games announced that GTA 3, Vice City and San Andreas are re-launched in a Remastered Trilogy. The VR company Oculus has now been expanding and announced on the last house fair that has been working on a VR implementation of GTA for years: San Andreas.

GTA: San Andreas soon also in VR?

Despite the huge potential, VR could not really start in the year 2021. But that could change soon. At the in-house Messe Connect 2021, Oculus announced that one had been working on a VR implementation of GTA: San Andreas for several years (Source: Oculus):

Today we have announced on the Connect that the Rockstar Games classic Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is in development for Quest 2. Experience Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas from a new perspective and experience (again or for the first time) one of the most iconic open worlds of game history. This project has been working for many years, and we can not wait to show you more of them.

The Open World game appeared in 2004 and was able to move millions of players in his spell. In a few weeks, the Gangster classic also appears as part of a Remastered Collection together with GTA 3 and Vice City.

Details about the VR implementation are still in short supply

When exactly the VR implementation should go to the start, is not yet known. Other details also found Oculus the GTA fans. Pictures or a gameplay trailer did not exist as well. One thing one made clear from the outset: The game is currently in progress for Quest 2 in development. Whether it is ported later for other platforms, is still open at the moment.

GTA Vice City REMAKE Mod In GTA 5 Looks INSANE

It is well possible that Oculus offers the VR-GTA exclusively for the quest 2 for a year and then also offered for competing products - because the VR implementation could sometimes be a true system seller for the quest 2, if it is implemented accordingly well.
