Dortmund - Customers of the Sparkasse are currently being warned of dangerous stitches by fraudsters. Criminals try to get confidential bank details using fake emails and SMS. But with a few tricks, customers can protect themselves, as fraud reports.
Sparkassen: Warning of fraud - with this stitch, criminals can get bank details
Again and again hackers try to get the data from Sparkassen customers. In the past few days, the bank once again warned of several fraud stitches on its website. In one of the attempts to fraud, customers should receive an SMS according to CHIP, which allegedly informed about outstanding DHL deliveries. This message calls customers to install malware (more digital news at fraud).
This then ensures that additional windows are displayed when the savings bank app is opened. In these, the bank customers are asked to enter the account details. However, consumers should not do this under any circumstances, but instead have online banking access locks. In addition, it should be recommended to have the cell phone checked by a specialist.

But this stitch is far from the only one who is currently in circulation and can be dangerous for Sparkassen customers. Another fraud attempt is also made via SMS. This informs consumers about allegedly necessary extensions of legitimation. This message also contains a link to provide information about your bank details.
Customers should not pass this information on in this stitch either, as they can be misused by criminals. The same applies to a classic e-mail phishing attempt, which should be up to date. Sparkasse customers allegedly have to agree to the terms and conditions and are informed by email.
Here too, a link is installed on which the consumer should click on the sender. After clicking, the recipients are asked to name their bank details. But even with emails, consumers should not fall for fraud.
Sparkasse: Warning of fraud - so customers can protect themselves from the criminals
Anyone who has already become the victim of one of the methods should contact the Sparkasse as soon as possible. But so that it doesn't get that far, customers can protect themselves. So consumers should not click on links in emails and SMS. But whatsapp should also occur in cases of fraud, as Merkur.de found.
If you are unsure whether it is a serious message, you can contact the bank in case of doubt. In general, however, serious banks do not request their customers via SMS to confirm their data. Customers should therefore question emails and SMS that seem strange to them.
